What is a Computer? - Computing - Teaching Wiki - Twinkl

Parent’s Computer Club runs every Monday from 9:00am – 10:45am. 

Learn basic computing skills such as word processing, how to change fonts, size and colours of text and how to draw and paint on the computer. 

If you would like to attend, speak to Mrs Rahman in the office she will put your name on the waiting list. 

First Aid Course

First Aid Sign, Vinyl (15cmx15cm ...

JIGSAW Housing Association will be providing an Emergency First Aid course.  The 2 week course will start on Monday 9th December from 11:45 – 3:15pm. This is a Level 3 course.  Please let Mrs Rahman know if you would like to enrol on this course. 

ESOL

English – Graveley Primary School

Family ESOL classes run every Tuesday morning from 9:00am – 11:30am and 1:00pm – 3:00pm. These classes are run by Lifelong learning. 

This class support adults to build their confidence when speaking in English and improve their well-being. Learn how to improve your communication skills for example when making appointments and helping your children with their learning. 
These classes are for parents of our school but may become available to extended family members – Mrs Rahman will be in touch.

Workshops

Come to a parent’s workshop every Tuesday afternoon 2:30pm- 3:10pm.  There will be a different theme each week. Meet in the office on Tuesday afternoons by 2:25pm to attend. See below for those coming up this term. Just turn up to attend. 

12th November 2024:   Reading and phonics – learn about what phonics involves and how to use Little Wandle parents tab with Miss Nield and Mrs Rahman. 

19th November  2024: My Happy Mind. Learn about how to access the App which supports the learning in school with Mrs Sikandar and Mrs Rahman. 

26th November 2024: Talk for Writing.  For parents who want to see how their child learns how to write at our school.  This will be an interactive session with Mrs Bennion and Mrs Rahman. 

3rd December 2024: Learn how to support your child to complete their homework on SeeSaw with Miss Hulme and Mrs Rahman. 

1oth December 2024: Toilet Training. Attendance to this by invitation only with Mrs Sikandar and Mrs Rahman.

 

Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities

Strengthening Families | Self Help Inc. Coordinated Family and Community  Engagement

A 13 week programme to promote positive relationships with their children and positive behaviour strategies.  A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of this course. This course takes place every Wednesday morning 9am – 12pm. This will start after October half-term.

Please speak to Mrs Rahman if you would like to attend.

Jigsaw Housing will be providing a Level 2 Food and Hygiene Certificate.  This will be a 2 week course. The dates of the course will start on 13th November and finishes on the 20th November. Parents who have previously completed this course were grateful for the opportunity and said it helped them with  their work. 

Year 2, Year 3,  4  and 5 Homework Class

Homework & Spelling Tasks | Blakedown Primary School

Year 2, Year 3, 4 and 5 Homework Class runs every Thursday morning from 9:00am – 10:00am.This course is run by Mrs Bennion and Mrs Rahman. Come and find out how you can support your child with their homework and improve their learning.Just turn up to attend.  

Basic English Class

English

This course runs every Thursday morning from 10:15am – 11:45am. 

Come and learn basic spoken English.  This class involves role play of different situations such as introducing themselves, making a DRs appointment, buying a bus ticket and buying items in shops.  

Speak to Mrs Rahman in the office if you would like to attend and she will add your to the waiting list. 15

29th November – A Team Sahara dementia advisor will be attending to discuss identifying signs of dementia in those who may be suffering from it.
